Eurofins supports you to avoid adulteration.
We have one of the leading DNA laboratories in the field of animal species1, especially fish species1 and tuna determination1. Besides fresh fish and meat we also test processed fish products, e.g. canned fish, tuna on pizza, frozen fish and ready meals. We can even identify exotic1 or seafood products1.
Legislation
According to food law, the exact animal species must be declared (Ordinance on Food of Animal Origin, Art. 19 Material Designation) and the information on the packaging must be correct (Ordinance on Foodstuffs and Utility Articles LGV, Art. 10 Prohibition of Deception).
